Ask the Question:

Did his mother prenatally expose him to alcohol? I am betting you would find he was heavily exposed to alcohol in utero.

The clues are highlighted in bold and italics.

Accused Minn. teen won't escape murder trial

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Supreme Court has ordered a Bemidji teen accused in the shooting death of his grandmother to stand trial as an adult.

The high court refused Thursday to overturn previous rulings that certified Nicholas Shutter for prosecution as an adult. He was 15 when he was arrested for the 2005 Thanksgiving Day murder of 55-year-old Marilyn Shutter. She and her husband had been raising the boy since he was a toddler.

He had a history of behavioral problems and mental health issues. According to court records, Nicholas says he only meant to scare his grandmother and accidentally shot at the couch she was on. She was hit in the back of the head. The records say he was upset she wouldn't give him a computer password because he planned to access Internet pornography.

The high court says the case met five of six tests needed to certify a juvenile 14 or older for adult prosecution.

Thank you for taking a stand against maternal drinking. My son and daughter, adopted, will be paying for the rest of their lives, for the alcohol and drug use their mother did. My son is 11, and is in the process of being put into "long term" care, because he is a danger to society. He has tried to set fire to where we live many times, he has bitten me, attacked his sister, and others. I love my son, but I have to protect my daughter and grand children, I also have to protect the public at large. I would love to go to the high schools and show them his wonderful, sweet face...then show them the holes in the walls, the bite marks on my arms, the scar on his sister's head, where he split her head open, and didn't care, or have his teachers at school tell them how he attacked them, because they told him to do his school work. His IQ is 86, no impulse control, no remorse for any pain he causes others, steals anything he can, breaks into houses, sets fires, uses the foulest words, will urinate and poop where ever he wants to, will take food out of the garbage, and there are times, when he is happy, when the voices in his head are quiet, you can see the boy he was ment to be. I love my son, though he didn't grow within me, he grew within my heart. But for the safety of my other children, including his 1/2 sister, I must place him into long term care....Keep getting the message out....This is not joking matter...lives are at stake here. BTW, his bio 1/2 sister has many FASD traits, but she does have compassion, normal if not above intellegence. But she does have outbursts---screaming fits, and teary breakdowns. She is able to show love, and give it in return. Her brother wasn't able to do that at all. She has never sworn, or attacked anyone. But she does have problems making friends, no matter how sweet she is. Thanks again for taking a stand. Please keep me updated on your book. God bless!
